Annual Ryegrass is a fast-growing, late-maturing, cool-season annual grass species. Tetraploid annual ryegrass is better suited for pasture or for hay than common (diploid) annual ryegrass because it has less cellulose and is easier digested.  Tetraploids have roughly double the sugars, carbohydrate, and water per cell compared to that of a diploid. 

Plant at 35-40 pounds per acre for cover crops, pasture, hay, and erosion control (increase rate for sloped ground)
