Ohau's combination of high feed quality, fewer seed heads and good palatability drive animal productivity. Ohau is an ideal pasture grass for finishing cattle or sheep and performs well for dairy cows.
Ohau is a new tetraploid hybrid ryegrass with 75% perennial and 25% Italian ryegrass genetics. It is mid-late season heading and is productive throughout spring, summer and fall providing high quality forage.
Ohau Ryegrass has strong early spring activity and has very good green leaf production through the summer months, under irrigation.
It has a high tiller density for a tetraploid which provides a persistent, productive pasture.
As Typical with tetraploid ryegrasses, Ohau is highly palatable
- Plant at 25-35 pounds per acre.
- Ideally Ohau Tetrapoid Hybrid Ryegrass should be planted in the fall, but it can also be in the spring. Plant Ohau in summer for moist areas.
- Ohau is compatible with chicory, plantain, and white clover.
