Barley is a cool season annual cereal grain that can be used for grain production hay & forage, erosion control, and as an inexpensive cover crop. UC 969 Barley is a medium-short variety that stands well and is a good grain producer. It has good resistance to barley stripe rust, scald and net blotch. This resistance has given it good test weight suggesting that there has been no loss of grain yield. The UC 969 has averaged 4,436lb/acre. This has been a improvement in yield of 15.3% from the UC 603 Barley. This can be planted in November or even December in California and southern areas.
Plant at 100 lbs. per acre.
