Woollypod Vetch is vigorous variety used for forage and hay or in cover crops to build organic matter and add high amounts of nitrogen.  Lana vetch is a winter active and early maturing vetch.  When planted in the fall it will produce most of its biomass in the winter and the early spring.  In cold climates Woollypod vetch should be planted in the spring. It can be used for range improvement especially in mediterranean climates. This is a great choice for noxious weed control because it’s a vigorous growing plant. Thus is a great substitute for purple vetch as well.
