Sorghum-Sudan is a summer annual that should be planted after the threat of frost.  Sweeter N Honey BMR is a Brown Midrib Sorghum-Sudan which produces a more digestable forage that non-BMR Sorghum-Sudan hybrids.  Sweeter N Honey BMR has slightly large leaves and stems that are extraodinarily palatable.  The BRM attribute results in lignin content resulting in greater relative feed value and increase dry matter consumption.  Sorghum-Sudans generally use about 1/3 less water than corn.  Unlike other Sorghum-Sudans, Sweeter N Honey BMR can produce highly palatable hay. 

Warning: Sorghum x Sudangrass should not be grazed before 18 inches high, during or immediately after any severe stress, or before regrowth is 12 to 18 inches high after cutting.  Mares with foal should not graze sorghum x sudangrass, nor be fed greenchop or hay made from sorghum x sudangrass.
